Since there will be no graduation ceremony, will the graduation fee be refunded? When will I receive the refund?

Will there be a refund of tuition or state and local fees?

I paid a class materials fee that I am no longer able to use, will there be a refund?

These fees are under review by the applicable academic departments.  Students will be updated as information becomes available.

 

Student housing parking permits will soon be partially refunded, what about student non-housing semester parking permits?

Students with lot 20 and 25 permits can receive a refund of 50% by applying at the following link:  https://parking.sfsu.edu/content/parking-permit-online-request-form#overlay-context=home

 

 I am expecting a refund.  How do I enroll in Direct Deposit?

Signing up for Direct Deposit, is quick and easy!  You simply need to enter your account number and routing number for the designated bank account.  You can enroll into direct deposit from your Student Center.  Please view this How To Video for directions on enrolling in direct deposit: How to Enroll in Direct Deposit

 

I have been charged the $20 refund fee in the past, will this fee be suspended?

The $20 refund fee only applies to non-financial aid tuition refunds and will continue to be applied.  Housing and financial aid refunds are not subject to the fee.  Please reach out to the Bursar's Office via service ticket for more information: https://bursar.sfsu.edu/inquiry

 

I have been charged the $20 Electronic Funds Transfer (Direct Deposit) reject fee in the past, will this fee continue to be charged?

The $20 EFT reject fee applies to any direct deposit that is returned from the bank.  This fee will continue to be assessed. Please reach out to the Bursar's Office via service ticket for more information: https://bursar.sfsu.edu/inquiry

 

I have been charged the $20 dishonored check fee in the past, will this fee continue to be charged?

 

The $20 dishonored check fee applies to any returned check, credit card or debit card payment.  This fee will continue to be assessed.  Please reach out to the Bursar's Office via service ticket for more information: https://bursar.sfsu.edu/inquiry

 

I have been encouraged to stay home, will the university suspend the 2.75% service charge assessed to credit/debit payments?

 

The 2.75% service charge is assessed and retained by the university’s payment processor for credit and debit card payments only.  You can make a payment at no charge by utilizing the e-check (electronic check) payment option.  Please reach out to the Bursar's Office via service ticket for more information: https://bursar.sfsu.edu/inquiry

 

Will I get a refund if I withdraw to part-time status?

I (or my family) is out of work and unable to make payment towards Spring 2020 tuition.  Will I be able to register for Summer 2020 or Fall 2020 classes?

Summer 2020 Registration

To help alleviate the economic hardship many students are facing, San Francisco State University will allow students to register for Summer 2020 classes while carrying a Spring 2020 tuition only balance of $3,635 or less.  If your balance is the result of a pending Financial Aid disbursement, please email finaid@sfsu.edu

 

Fall 2020 Registration

Registration for Fall 2020 begins April 27, 2020.  San Francisco State University will allow students to register for Fall 2020 classes while carrying a Spring 2020 tuition only balance of $3,635 or less and/or a Summer 2020 tuition only balance of $3,635 or less; however, at this time, all outstanding balances must be cleared by Aug 12, to prevent being dropped for non-payment.  SF State and the Bursar's Office is open to communicating with students concerning their financial options.  Please reach out to the Bursar's Office via service ticket if you have further questions: https://bursar.sfsu.edu/inquiry.
